Franka Berger

BERGER, Franka, French pharmaceutical chemist. In 1984 she invented a dry perfume and marketed it a year later. Dry means the liquid is encapsulated in microbeads so scent is only released when the beads become broken. Paper test samples have microencapsulated beads impregnated onto the paper, squeezing the paper then releases the perfume. This product concept is now widely used in the trade. Then in 1989 Franka also invented mousse body-perfume.
