Janet Keiller

KEILLER, Janet, Scottish greengrocer. She and her husband John got a shipment of oranges that were too bitter to resell. The only idea she came up with was to make a jam out of them. This orange jam proved popular, and in 1797 they created a factory to produce it in quantity. It later became known as Dundee Marmalade.
