GEORGIEVA, Raina, Bulgarian geneticist and agriculturist. From 1951 she led a team developing tobacco plants resistant to TMV (tobacco mosaic virus), and new types of flax and barley. Raina was a professor of genetics and selections in an agricultural institute. Plant hybridisation was one of her skills.
